from March 23 to 25th March. The total death toll stood at 7503 people as of 25th March 2020.

Lesson learnt: do not let your guard down too quickly.
Perhaps one tragicomedy in the unfolding of the drama is this prosperous Asian country. The
country which was very proactive in limiting the number of new infections through stringent
measures for months at the beginning of the outbreak, let its guard down. The measures were
well planned and executed. But alas they were too quick to lift up the measures and new
infections have been reported and a shut down reinstated as of 25th March 2020.

The Southern African country registers its first corona virus case. The number of those infected
stood at 754 as of 25th March 2020. The minister of health Dr Zweli Mkhize estimates that 60 to
70 percent of the country would be infected by the disease. Out of those infected 20 percent will
be critical cases. This estimation suggests that approximately 40 million people will be infected
