global outbreak. He plays the role of a classical soothsayer.

A 55 year old is diagnosed with a flu like disease. He is further assessed and he is found to
harbour a virus that has similarities to a strain of viruses under the Severe Acute Respiratory
Syndrome SARS. The virus is dubbed SARS COV2. It will register a total of 366000 infections
world wide in just less than 3 months from its inception. The total death toll will stand at 20000
plus world wide as of 25 March 2020.
The infected is symptomatic and he has a shortness of breath. This is as a result of the viral
attack on the human's bronchitis. The virus in its later stages attack the lungs of its victims,
rendering breathing impossible without mechanical or instrumental help.
The disease is thought to have originated from a bat and might have been transmitted to a human
being through contact with a pangolin. The research is not conclusive.
The Centre for Disease Prevention CDC in the USA found that those of ages 65 and above are
the most vulnerable. Also those with an already compromised immune system are also
vulnerable.
The researchers in Hubei and around China gather resources to deal with this alien disease. A
hospital is built in a few days. Another is built within a space of ten days. The disease at this time
has escalated and is spreading haywire. Isolation and quarantine of patients is the best recourse to
maintain its further spread. The debate now is whether China acted promptly or perhaps delayed
in making its announcement and taking precautionary measures.
